Brazilian prosecutors issue gym licensing and heavy‑vehicle traffic restrictions

The Public Ministry in Maranhão summoned the legal representatives of 231 gyms, training centers and similar facilities to collective hearings aimed at regularising operations, verifying licences, sanitary permits and the registration of qualified physical‑education professionals. Documentation must be submitted by early August 2026, with the hearings scheduled for early August in São Luís.

Separately, the Federal Public Ministry in Minas Gerais issued Recommendation No. 13/2026 to the logistics association NTC&Logística, directing members to observe temporary heavy‑vehicle traffic restrictions during the Nossa Senhora da Abadia religious festivities. The restriction, in effect from 1 to 15 August 2026, bans oversized trucks on several highway segments in the Triângulo Mineiro region and carries potential civil‑public actions and fines for non‑compliance.
