Brazilian Public Agencies Adopt AI in 60% of Entities, Survey Shows

A survey by NIC.br and the Internet Governance Committee (CGI.br) found that roughly 60% of Brazil's federal and state public agencies are already using artificial intelligence (AI) in their systems. The most common applications are process automation (40%), text mining (35%) and machine learning (31%). Generative AI tools are employed in 65% of cases for internal workflows and in 29% for services directed at citizens.

Adoption is uneven: 70% of federal bodies and 58% of state agencies report AI use, while only 27% of municipalities have implemented the technology, rising to 54% in capital cities. Experts cite gains in productivity, cost reduction and improved citizen interaction, but also warn of security and exposure risks.
