Brazilian public-sector workers secure salary raises in Paraná and São Paulo

Public employees in Brazil reached new wage agreements in two regions. In the southwest of Paraná, SAMU workers suspended a strike after unions approved a 3.5% increase in the food‑allowance to R$ 500 and kept the 12‑hour work‑on/60‑hour rest schedule. Six of seven unions voted for the proposal, while negotiations continue in Francisco Beltrão.

In São Paulo state, the municipal urbanism firm Emurb and the municipal servants’ union settled on a 5.4% salary increase for roughly 300 staff, to be applied in August 2026, along with higher meal‑voucher values (R$ 28 per day for meals, R$ 440 for food allowance) and retroactive payments for early 2024.
