Brazilian Rafael Camara clinches first Formula 2 pole at Monaco Grand Prix

Rafael Camara secured his maiden Formula 2 pole position during the Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session on the streets of Monte Carlo. After briefly touching the wall on the opening lap, his team repaired the car in time for a final fast lap, allowing him to post the quickest time of 1:20.923.

The qualifying was split into two groups, each with eleven drivers, and featured multiple red‑flag periods after serious incidents involving John Bennett, Laurens Van Hoepen and Kush Maini. Alex Dunne finished second, a tenth behind Camara, while Nikola Tsolov recorded the fastest time in the second group but started from second on the grid. The front row therefore consists of Camara and Tsolov, with Dunne and Martinius Stenshorne on the second row.

Camara’s performance marks a notable achievement for the Brazilian driver and Invicta Racing, who managed to restore his suspension damage quickly enough to claim the top starting spot.
