Nvidia reports record Q2 revenue of $96.22 billion driven by AI demand

Nvidia has reported record-breaking financial results for its second quarter of fiscal 2027, driven by an accelerating global demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company reported revenue of $96.22 billion, representing a 106% increase year-over-year. The data center segment was the primary driver, generating $89 billion in revenue, a 117% increase compared to the previous year.

Net income reached $59.69 billion, a 126% increase from the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) was $2.22. During the quarter, Nvidia returned approximately $26 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.

Looking ahead, Nvidia provided an optimistic outlook, forecasting third-quarter revenue of approximately $108 billion. The company also projected revenue growth of roughly 70% for fiscal year 2028, significantly exceeding previous market expectations. CEO Jensen Huang noted that AI has reached an inflection point where compute is directly translating into revenue.

In related technological developments, Nvidia introduced NVHBM, a new memory architecture that moves the memory controller directly onto the HBM base die to increase available silicon area for processing. Additionally, Amazon has announced plans to acquire 2 million additional Nvidia GPUs for its AWS data centers throughout 2027 and 2028 to support its AI scaling efforts.
