Brazilian resorts announce ESG certification and leadership changes

The Brazilian hospitality sector is seeing significant developments in sustainability and leadership. Jequitimar Guarujá Resort & Spa by Accor has achieved the ESG Pulse certification at the ‘Transformador’ level. This recognition follows an audit of 112 environmental, social, and governance practices. Key achievements include a private effluent treatment plant that reduces annual effluent by 65 million liters and contributes to a 45% reduction in water costs. The resort also utilizes renewable energy, LED technology, and organic waste biodigesters.

In a separate leadership move, The Westin Porto de Galinhas has appointed Ewerton Santos as its new Commercial Manager. Santos, who has over 10 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality sectors, will oversee sales, reservations, groups, and events. His role coincides with the resort's expansion, including the upcoming launch of new rooftop spaces designed for weddings, corporate meetings, and social events.
