Brazilian restaurants Nelita and Evvai named among world's top 100
Two restaurants from São Paulo, Nelita and Evvai, have been included in the extended list of The 50 Best Restaurants 2026. The extended ranking, which features establishments ranked between 51st and 100th place, was announced on Wednesday.
Nelita, led by chef Tássia Magalhães, debuts at 54th position. Magalhães, who was named Best Female Chef in Latin America in 2025, operates a kitchen composed exclusively of women. Evvai, commanded by chef Luiz Filipe Souza, climbed 27 positions from the previous year to reach 68th place. Evvai is known for its tasting menu that blends Italian heritage with Brazilian ingredients.
The inclusion of these two establishments marks a decrease in Brazilian representation in this specific ranking compared to 2025, when four restaurants—Tuju, Oteque, A Casa do Porco, and Evvai—appeared in the 51–100 range. The top 50 restaurants will be revealed during a ceremony in Lima, Peru, on November 4.
