Brazilian Deputy Nikolas Ferreira Leads Social Media Ranking
A Nexus research project evaluating 15 federal deputies on Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube and TikTok between 1 February and 30 April 2026 found that deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL‑MG) topped the overall Index of Relevance on Social Media (IR² Nexus) with 80.29 points – more than twice the score of the runner‑up, Fábio Teruel (MDB‑SP) at 35.92. The study recorded 8,595 posts generating about 865 million interactions, an average of 100.6 k per post. Right‑wing deputies accounted for 52.3% of total engagement, averaging 137 k interactions per publication, while centre and left‑wing deputies contributed 27.1% and 20.3% respectively. Platform‑specific findings show right‑wing dominance on YouTube (average 204 k interactions per post) and strong performance by the left on X. Other deputies in the top five were Gustavo Gayer (PL‑GO, 25.81 points), Erika Hilton (PSOL‑SP, 22.13), and André Janones (Rede‑MG, 18.23). The Nexus report highlights distinct audience profiles across platforms and notes that Ferreira’s content, focused on government criticism, family values and religious themes, drove the highest interaction volumes.
