Brazilian rock bands debut new album and reissue classic on World Rock Day

On July 13, the International Day of Rock, Brazilian band Basttardz released its third studio album, “Tramas & Traumas”. The eight‑track, concept record reflects modern life’s emotional and social pressures, covering themes such as inequality, consumerism and urban violence. It is available on streaming platforms and on vinyl from Brisa Discos, was recorded at DOC Studio in São Luís and will be promoted with a national tour of 15 shows across the Centre‑West, Southeast and South regions.

Also on World Rock Day, pioneering group Plebe Rude issued a commemorative 40‑year re‑release of its 1986 classic “O Concreto Já Rachou”. The edition includes vinyl, unreleased demos, a documentary and a fresh recording of “Até Quando Esperar” featuring Herbert Vianna and Jacques Morelenbaum. In an interview, bassist André X said, “When we wrote the song, I was just a young man in my twenties… the same inequalities we sang about still exist today.” The release coincides with the band’s 45th anniversary and underscores the enduring relevance of its socially‑critical lyrics.
