Brazilian runners feature in Ultra Paine and Dez Milhas Garoto events
The Ultra Paine trail running event in Torres del Paine, Chile, has confirmed significant participation from Brazilian runners for its September 2026 edition. Over 1,700 participants from 32 countries are registered for the event, with 64 runners from Brazil already secured. Due to high demand, organizers have already opened registrations for the September 2027 edition.
In Brazilian street running, the 35th edition of the Dez Milhas Garoto race, scheduled for September 27, 2026, will see women making up the majority of participants for the first time. Female registration has risen from 44% in 2024 to 51% in 2026, marking a 56% increase over two years. This trend is supported by initiatives like the Movimento Soudessas, a training program designed to encourage female participation in running.
