Brazilian running events announce major updates and upcoming editions
Major Brazilian running events are preparing for significant upcoming editions. The Fundação Cásper Líbero has unveiled a new visual identity for the 101st edition of the São Silvestre International Race, scheduled for December 31, 2026. The campaign, themed ‘The first of the next hundred years’, focuses on amateur runners and historical participants rather than just elite athletes, utilizing a vibrant color palette of red, orange, green, blue, and purple.
In Rio de Janeiro, the 28th edition of the Rio de Janeiro International Half Marathon is set to host approximately 18,000 runners, a 50% increase from the previous year. The event includes a 21.097 km main course starting at Leblon Beach, alongside 1-mile, 5 km, and 10 km races. Some distances serve as official qualifiers for the Brazilian Athletics Confederation (CBAt) to select the national delegation for the World Road Running Championships in Denmark.
