Brazilian sci‑fi film 'Aquele que viu o abismo' premieres in São Paulo
On July 23, a special pre‑screening of the dystopian sci‑fi film “Aquele que viu o abismo” will be held at the Espaço Petrobras de Cinema in São Paulo, with tickets priced at R$10. After the showing, a debate featuring directors Gregorio Gananian and Negro Leo, moderated by poet Marcelo Ariel, will discuss the film’s artistic and narrative experimentation.
The film, directed by Gananian and Negro Leo and produced by Zaum Produtora with Katásia Filmes, won the Best Film award at the Olhos Livres competition of the 27th Tiradentes Film Festival. It follows protagonist X, recruited by the multinational ProLife, through a hallucinatory journey of murders and visions in a future dystopia. The national theatrical release is set for July 30. The official trailer and poster have been released; the cast includes Danielly O.M.M. Kaufmann, Ava Rocha, and Clara Choveaux.
