Flávio Bolsonaro unveils presidential plan with ministry cuts and security reforms
Presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) has released a 76-page government plan titled ‘Para o Brasil Vencer o Atraso’. The platform focuses heavily on administrative reform and public security. Key proposals include cutting ten federal ministries, reducing commissioned positions, and revising the federal pact between the Union, states, and municipalities.
In terms of security, Bolsonaro proposes classifying criminal factions and militias as narcoterrorist organizations. He also advocates for increasing border patrols using the Armed Forces and reducing the criminal age from 18 to 14 for heinous crimes. His plan includes the implementation of chemical castration for convicted sex offenders and the creation of 500,000 new prison spaces.
Regarding the judiciary, Bolsonaro has criticized the Supreme Federal Court (STF), specifically targeting ministers Alexandre de Moraes and Flávio Dino. He stated that if elected, he intends to appoint up to six ministers to the Court. Additionally, he announced plans to recruit and credential volunteers to act as poll watchers to monitor electronic voting machines during elections.
Economic proposals include reducing taxes on electricity and fuel, reviewing the tax reform, and promoting privatization. In health, the plan emphasizes digitalization and integrated medical records, while education proposals include expanding civic-military schools and technical courses.
