Daniel Vorcaro funded luxury Lisbon hotel stays for Brazil’s Hugo Motta and Ciro Nogueira

Brazilian police investigators uncovered WhatsApp messages showing that Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master, arranged and paid for luxury suites at the Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon for Chamber president Hugo Motta and Senator Ciro Nogueira during a June 2024 visit. The messages reveal Vorcaro’s request for “two Jr. suites” for “Ciro and Hugo” and an audio note in which he warned, “Preciso muito que você dê uma atenção na questão de segurança…”. The PF report estimates five days of accommodation at about €3,000 (≈ R$18,000) per suite, with the total cost for Nogueira’s stay recorded at roughly R$91,000. Parallel investigations document that Vorcaro also covered the politicians’ international travel, private‑jet flights, and hotel expenses in Paris, New York and the French Alps, amounting to hundreds of thousands of reais. Further probes indicate monthly transfers to Ciro Nogueira ranging from R$300,000 to R$500,000, totalling at least R$6 million between 2024 and 2025, as well as payments to senior police officers for confidential information. The findings raise concerns of undue influence, possible corruption and misuse of public office.
