Brazilian shoppers increase Father's Day spending as Kopenhagen rolls out new gift boxes

Kopenhagen launched a range of Father's Day chocolate gift boxes, including a Coffee Bombons box (112 g) priced from R$99.90, a Conhaque & Toffee selection (288 g) from R$159.90, a Cat Tongue collection (206 g) from R$124.90, a Bar box (160 g) from R$124.90, and a Mini Lajotinha box (150 g) from R$59.90.

A survey by the Santa Catarina branch of Fecomércio reports that the average amount consumers plan to spend on Father's Day gifts rose to R$255.60, the highest level since the series began in 2018. The nominal increase is 6.1% over the previous year and 1.8% after adjusting for inflation. Most shoppers (86.4%) say their financial situation is unchanged or better than a year ago. Clothing remains the top gift category (42.7% of respondents), followed by shoes (21.1%) and perfumes/cosmetics (19.6%). Over half (57.7%) intend to buy in the week of or the day before the holiday, while 27% plan to purchase up to two weeks earlier. PIX is the leading payment method (31.4%), with credit‑card installments at 21.7%. Street‑level stores account for 51.5% of purchases, while online sales represent 22.8% of intended spending.
