Brazilian shopping centers host accessibility and inclusion initiatives

Shopping centers in Brazil are hosting initiatives focused on accessibility and social inclusion.

In Barueri, Shopping Tamboré is hosting the “Autismo no Parque” project until September 10, 2026. Developed by Grupo PD, this free itinerant installation uses art and interactivity to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and neuroplasticity. The exhibit features two two-meter-tall fiberglass brain sculptures and artistic interventions by Cintia Abravanel, utilizing QR codes to provide educational content.

Meanwhile, Via Verde Shopping hosted students from the Centro Pedagógico de Atendimento a Pessoas com Deficiência Visual (CAP) for a sensory experience at its “Mundo Jurássico” exhibition. For the third consecutive year, the shopping center adapted its space to allow visually impaired students to explore life-sized dinosaur replicas through touch. The visit was held during special hours to ensure a controlled auditory environment conducive to the students' sensory learning.
