Brazilian short film ‘Novo Atendimento’ to compete at FESTin in Portugal

The Brazilian short film ‘Novo Atendimento’, directed by and starring Tales Ordakji, has been selected for the official competition at the 17th FESTin – Festival de Cinema Itinerante da Língua Portuguesa in Portugal. The film is scheduled for screening on October 4 at the Liceu Camões Auditorium in Lisbon.

Produced by Atado no Ato and filmed in Santos, São Paulo, the 12-minute comedy uses irony to critique the bureaucracy and digital mediation of everyday services. The plot follows a character named Lipe as he encounters absurd obstacles while attempting to order a simple espresso.

The production has already received seven awards across five countries, including honors in Brazil, the United States, Italy, Canada, and England. Ordakji and producer Cibele Gonçalves will travel to Portugal for the festival, which runs from October 1 to 11.
