Brazilian short film ‘Novo Atendimento’ to debut at FESTin in Lisbon

The Brazilian short film ‘Novo Atendimento’, directed by and starring Tales Ordakji, has been selected for the official competition at the 17th Festival de Cinema Itinerante da Língua Portuguesa (FESTin) in Lisbon, Portugal. The film, which is set in Santos, uses humor to critique the bureaucracy and technological obstacles encountered during the simple task of ordering an espresso.

Produced by Atado no Ato, the 12-minute production has already participated in over 20 festivals and earned seven awards across five countries. Its international accolades include Best Short and Best Direction at the Oklahoma Latin American Film Festival in the United States, Best Comedy Short at the Digital Griffix Film Awards in Canada, and Best Actor for Ordakji at the Coliseum International Film Festival in Italy. In Brazil, it received honors at the Festival de Cinema de Caruaru and the 17th MABS Showcase.

The screening in Lisbon is scheduled for October 4 during the festival, which runs from October 1 to 11.
