Brazilian short films selected for national and international festivals

Several Brazilian short films are gaining recognition through various national and international film festivals.

Director Úrsula Ramos's short film, ‘Sinzé’, has been selected for the 2026 Canedo Fest. Set in the 1960s, the film explores quilombola themes and reconstructs the director's childhood memories through the story of a young leader from the Nova Roma and Cavalcante regions of Goiás.

Additionally, the short film ‘Barulho’, directed by Karen Suzane, is scheduled to participate in eight festivals throughout August. The film will make its international debut at the 3rd FINCI (Festival Internacional de Nuevo Cine Independiente) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In Brazil, it has been selected for the 37th Kinoforum – Festival Internacional de Curtas de São Paulo, with screenings at the Cinemateca, CineSesc, and the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS).
