Brazilian singer Jão returns with new album Memórias Póstumas
Brazilian pop singer Jão held a free listening event for his forthcoming album Memórias Póstumas in São Paulo’s Vale do Anhangabaú on 26 July 2026. The 14‑track record, entirely written and produced by the artist, became available on streaming platforms at 21:00 that night.
The event marked Jão’s comeback after more than a year away from social media and live performances. He had previously concluded a successful Supernova tour for his earlier album before taking a hiatus to rest and write new material. In a public letter accompanying his return, Jão reflected on the pressures of constant visibility, noting the personal toll of missing family moments and the importance of slowing down to create meaningful work.
Fans gathered in large numbers to hear the new songs early, and the album’s cover shows Jão riding a motorcycle with an older woman, hinting at themes of memory and passage.
