Brazilian sports events highlight gymnastics growth and judo medal win

Judoka Gustavo Slootemaker Tabet from Vargem Grande do Sul captured a bronze medal in the Junior Heavy division at the Campeonato Paulista de Judô held on 23 May at the Ginásio Antônio Baldusco in Itapecerica da Serra. More than 500 judokas representing around 150 clubs competed, and Tabet's result secured second place in the state ranking, qualifying him for the upcoming Brazilian Championships.

The Copa Brasília de Ginástica 2026 concluded its 41st edition on 23‑24 May at the Colégio Marista in Brasília. The competition featured 3,668 athletes across six disciplines—artistic, rhythmic, acrobatic, parkour, aerobic—and involved 68 federations, drawing about 15,000 spectators. Olympic medalist Arthur Zanetti attended, praising the event’s role in developing gymnastics talent in the capital.
