Brazilian state finance offices announce new public service exams

The Bahia Treasury Department (Sefaz BA) will hold separate exams for auditor fiscal and state tax agent positions, with about 200 total vacancies split evenly between the two careers. The selection will be managed by a single organizing body, though the contract has not yet been awarded. The salaries are projected to exceed R$13,000 for agents and R$19,000 for auditors. Secretary of Administration Rodrigo Pimentel said, "Já foi definido que vai ser somente uma empresa, uma banca que vai tocar os dois concursos e que serão também em datas separadas."

In Alagoas, the Treasury Department (Sefaz AL) may soon confirm its exam organizer. The upcoming competition is expected to offer 50 auditor fiscal posts, half for immediate appointment and half for a reserve list. The vacancy count is part of a broader plan announced by Governor Paulo Dantas that includes more than 11,000 state positions. A legislative proposal to merge auditor fiscal and auditor of finance roles is currently under consideration in the state assembly, which could affect the next hiring round.
