Goiás, Mato Graso and other Brazilian states allocate millions to health infrastructure

The state of Goiás secured R$ 10 million to renovate and expand Campo Novo’s Hospital Euclides Horst, boosting beds from 31 to 57. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the municipality of Bonito received a federal micro‑bus to transport hemodialysis patients to Campo Grande, and Campo Grande’s Vira‑CG Saúde program added the Hospital Adventista do Pênfigo, investing about R$ 11.4 million to perform more than 1,200 surgeries and open five new ICU beds. Jaraguá in Goiás will undergo a R$ 100 million overhaul of its regional hospital, increasing capacity by 87 percent and adding new intensive‑care, delivery and diagnostic facilities. Sinop’s health department obtained R$ 5 million from a parliamentary amendment to fund orthopedic and otolaryngology surgeries, aiming to eliminate waiting lists. Canoas received over R$ 53 million from the National Health Fund to strengthen its municipal health network. These investments are part of broader state‑level efforts to modernize public hospitals, expand specialized services and improve patient transport across Brazil.
