Brazilian municipalities implement security reinforcements

Various municipalities across Brazil are implementing measures to strengthen public security and municipal guard forces.

In Pará, the state government distributed 36 motorcycles, 24 communication radios, and 34 ballistic vests to 18 municipalities, including Belém and Bragança. This initiative, part of the State Program for Supporting Public Security (Peosp), aims to improve mobility and response times for municipal guards and traffic agencies.

In Curitiba, the municipal government delivered nine mobile modules—equipped vans designed for tactical support and preventive patrolling—to all ten regional administrations. This follows public requests for increased patrols in residential neighborhoods.

Other regional developments include the appointment of 12 new municipal civil guards in Araras, São Paulo, following a public competition. Additionally, the Araguaína Municipal Guard is providing technical training and firearms proficiency instruction to security agents in Silvanópolis, Tocantins, as part of an inter-institutional cooperation effort.
