Brazilian states invest over R$9 million in major hospital upgrades

In Teresina, Piauí, Governor Rafael Fonteles inaugurated a R$9 million renovation of the Ambulatório Azul at Hospital Getúlio Vargas. The upgrade expands more than 30 specialties, adds a trans‑health clinic and improves patient and staff facilities.

In Francisco Beltrão, Paraná, the Hospital Geral Intermunicipal received a modern video‑surgery tower worth about R$241 thousand, funded through a R$9.49 million state‑municipal agreement. The equipment enables minimally invasive procedures, faster recovery and higher precision for regional surgeries.

Both projects aim to strengthen Brazil’s public health system by expanding service capacity and modernising facilities.
