Brazilian stock market: Small-cap opportunities and dividend leaders

Small-cap companies on the Brazilian stock exchange are emerging as potential opportunities for investors seeking undervalued assets. While foreign capital has recently favored large-cap companies due to higher liquidity, some small caps are trading below their book value despite showing growth, profitability, and lower leverage.

In the second quarter of 2026, a ranking of the top ten dividend and interest on equity (JCP) payers identified Bradesco as the leader, distributing R$ 3.1 billion. Other major distributors included Santander Brasil with R$ 1.7 billion and TIM with R$ 1.15 billion. The list of top payers also featured Itaú Unibanco, Caixa Seguridade, B3, Localiza, Allos, Klabin, and Gerdau.

Experts note that while trading below book value can signal opportunity, investors must exercise caution due to the lower liquidity and higher financial exposure typically associated with smaller companies.
