Brazilian striker Luiz Henrique faces Russian traffic‑fine scandal, no jail risk

A Russian online portal reported that Zenit forward Luiz Henrique has 52 alleged unpaid traffic violations in Russia, amounting to roughly 82,000 roubles (about 5,400 reais). The infractions are said to include excessive speeding and illegal parking, and could lead to a possible 15‑day detention.

Luiz Henrique’s representatives said the player and his wife only learned of the claims after the story was published, noted that no Russian authority has officially notified him, and emphasized that there is no risk of imprisonment. Zenit and the player's legal department are currently reviewing the allegations.

The player, who moved from Botafogo to Zenit in January 2025, was named in Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad but remained a reserve as Brazil were eliminated in the round of 16.
