Brazilian striker Luiz Henrique may be detained over Russian traffic fines
Brazilian forward Luiz Henrique, currently on the roster of Russian club Zenit, has been reported to have accumulated 52 unpaid traffic violations in Russia since May 2025. The infractions include 46 speeding offenses and several parking violations, amounting to a debt of about 82,000 rubles (roughly R$5.4 thousand). Under Russian administrative law, repeated non‑payment can lead to up to 15 days of detention or a requirement to perform up to 50 hours of community service.
Zenit’s legal department and the player’s representatives say they have received no official notice from Russian authorities and dispute the risk of imprisonment, describing the reports as sensationalist. The club is reviewing the matter with the relevant officials, and Luiz Henrique has not commented publicly on the issue.
