Brazilian student enrollment in U.S. universities reaches nearly 17,000

Brazilian interest in American higher education is rising, with Brazil now ranking among the top 10 countries for sending students to the United States. According to data from the Open Doors report, conducted by the Institute of International Education in partnership with the U.S. Department of State, nearly 17,000 Brazilian students are currently enrolled in U.S. institutions, with undergraduate programs accounting for approximately half of these enrollments.

Financing this education requires significant long-term planning. Annual costs for a four-year degree, including tuition, housing, food, health insurance, and materials, can range from US$ 30,000 to over US$ 90,000. Experts suggest that the duration of preparation is a more critical factor for families than current wealth when managing these substantial investments.
