Brazil hosts a wave of free summer music festivals across multiple cities
A series of free music events took place in Brazil in July 2026. The pagode group Di Propósito performed before more than 48,000 people at the 174‑year celebration of Imperatriz, Maranhão. The João Rock organization held the third edition of Papo João Rock with panels and pocket shows on July 29‑30 in Ribeirão Preto’s Open Mall.
The Amazônia POP festival opened in Manaus from 6‑8 December, featuring Gaby Amarantos, Karol Conká, the Gilsons and other national acts. In São Francisco do Maranhão, the Festival de Verão 2026 presented forró and piseiro shows on July 18‑19 at the Prainha. Campina Grande hosted the premiere of the opera “Cabeça de Cuia” during the XVII Fimus on July 18‑19.
Olinda’s Rock Rec Festival scheduled for September 19 reserved a stage for local bands such as Zero Bronca and Vitraiz. Niterói’s Guarderya Beach Club offered the Tape party on July 25, headlined by the band Lazy Rock. Finally, the Psica Festival held its first summer edition on the island of Marajó, Pará, on July 17‑18, with performances by Duda Beat, Tribo de Jah and Mombojó.
