Brazilian Survey Shows Strong Entrepreneurial Optimism Across Age Groups
A new edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) finds that a majority of Brazilians across all age brackets see good opportunities to start a business in the next six months. optimism peaks among ages 55‑64, with 65.7 % perceiving favorable conditions, while 65 % of those 18‑34, 63.9 % of 35‑54 and 58.2 % of 65‑74 share the view.
When looking three years ahead, 53 % of the 18‑34 cohort intend to launch a venture, compared with 42 % of 35‑54, 32 % of 55‑64 and 19 % of 65‑74. Sebrae president Rodrigo Soares attributes the optimism to controlled inflation, rising incomes and low unemployment, describing the environment as “favorable for entrepreneurship”. He also notes that confidence in the ease of starting a business rises with age, from 39 % among the youngest to 59 % among those 55‑64.
