Brazilian swimmer Guilherme Caribé signs with Caxias club Recreio da Juventude

Brazil's leading sprint freestyler Guilherme Caribé, 23, has joined the swimming team of Recreio da Juventude in Caxias do Sul. The club announced the agreement on 1 August, noting that Caribé chose the team for its high‑performance project and facilities comparable to international training centers.

Caribé, a top‑10 finisher in the 50 m freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympics and a multiple‑medal winner at the 2023 Pan‑American Games, aims to compete for Brazil at the Los Angeles 2028 Games. The club’s president Marcelo Ayala said the signing elevates the club’s profile nationally and abroad, while Caribé highlighted the club’s ambitious program as decisive for his move.
