Brazilian taekwondo athletes secure international titles and World Championship berths

Brazilian taekwondo athletes are achieving notable success in international competitions. In Peru, 16-year-old Angela Azevedo won the President’s Cup America 2026 title in the Junior Female +68 kg Kyorugi category. The tournament, sanctioned with a G3 classification by World Taekwondo, provides significant points for world and Pan-American rankings.

Additionally, a delegation from Espírito Santo is preparing for the Taekwondo Poomsae World Championship in Chuncheon, South Korea, scheduled for September 16–20. The team includes technician Manuela Feliz, athlete Andreza Lube, and FESTKD president Pedro Paulo Francelino. Lube enters the competition following a gold medal at the Brazilian University Games, while Francelino will compete in the master category for athletes over 65.
