Brazilian tennis players secure South American and national titles

Brazilian tennis players from Mato Grosso have achieved significant success in regional and national competitions. Livas Damázio was a key figure in Brazil's undefeated campaign at the South American Under-16 Championship held in Bogotá, Colombia. Damázio won both of his singles matches during the tournament, helping the Brazilian team secure the continental title and a qualification spot for the Junior Davis Cup World Championship to be held in Egypt this November.

In national competition, Pedro Moreira Costa was part of the Mato Grosso team that secured an unprecedented title in the men's 18-year-old category at the 2026 Tennis Federation Cup in Uberlândia. The team, which included Damázio, overcame traditional tennis powers such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Rio Grande do Sul to claim the state's first title in this category.
