The musical tribute to Paulo Gustavo, “Meu Filho é um Musical,” began a short run at São Paulo’s Teatro Renault on 20 August, with performances Thursday through Sunday. The production, presented by the Ministry of Culture and BB Seguros and supported by EMS, Epson, BNY, Robert Half and Banco Guanabara, features a large ensemble cast and direction by João Fonseca with musical direction by Tony Lucchesi.

Actor Mateus Solano debuted his first solo stage work, the monologue “O Figurante,” at João Pessoa’s Teatro Paulo Pontes on 7–9 August. Written by Cláudia Barral and directed by Miguel Thiré, the show explores themes of identity and personal agency. Tickets are sold through Ingresso Digital and local outlets, priced from R$65.

Both events reflect a surge in Brazilian theatrical offerings this month, highlighting new productions that blend humor, drama and contemporary cultural references.
