Brazilian theater launches new productions in Novo Hamburgo and São Luís

The comedy Baixa Sociedade, written by Juca de Oliveira and starring Luiz Fernando Guimarães, opened for a single performance on 13 August at Teatro Feevale in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul. Directed by Pedro Neschling, the 70‑minute play marks the 50th anniversary of Guimarães' career.

The cult musical Rocky Horror Show returned to São Luís for a free, immersive two‑day run on 7‑8 August at Teatro Luiz Pazzini. Produced by Vampire Cat, the staging invites audience members onto the stage and includes a school‑focused session with a post‑show discussion. Both events are part of Brazil’s cultural programming under the National Aldir Blanc Culture Promotion Policy.
