Brazilian theater showcases new productions in Poços de Caldas and São Paulo
The Grupo de Teatro Rua restaged its meta‑comedy "NonSense" on 24 July at Teatro Benigno Gaiga in Poços de Caldas, Brazil. The show, part of the 30th Winter Festival, draws on the absurdist work of German dramatist Karl Valentin and satirises backstage life while reflecting on everyday human communication.
Meanwhile, the musical "Rasga Coração" opened at São Paulo’s Teatro Oficina, presenting a vibrant tribute to Heitor Villa‑Lobos. Directed by Felipe Botelho and Roderick Himeros, the production blends music, dance and theatre to honour the centenary of Villa‑Lobos’s Choros No. 10. It runs on 24, 30 and 31 July, offering audiences a sensory celebration of Brazilian cultural heritage.
