Brazilian towns begin multi‑million‑real asphalt paving projects

The municipality of Wenceslau Guimarães in Brazil has launched a new asphalt‑paving program. Mayor Gabriel de Parísio signed a service order on July 4 to pave approximately 4.8 km of roads, an investment exceeding R$ 2 million funded through a parliamentary amendment from Deputy Dal Barreto. The works are intended to improve urban mobility, traffic safety and road conditions for residents and visitors.

In a separate project, the Beira Rio avenue will be resurfaced starting in July. The 2.6‑km stretch will receive structural reinforcement and a fresh asphalt layer, with a total cost of about R$ 1.9 million. The work is divided into two sections handled by Construções Schroeder LTDA and Pacopedra, respectively, and is scheduled to be completed within 30 days. Officials say the aim is to enhance traffic safety, durability and overall pavement quality.
