Brazilian towns extend and restore water supply systems

The municipality of Agudos do Sul in Brazil began extending the water distribution network to the Pedra Branca community. The project, carried out by the city’s Secretariat of Works and Services in partnership with Sanepar, aims to increase coverage, provide treated water, and improve public health. Temporary road closures may occur during construction to ensure worker safety.

In Palmeira dos Índios, the local government recovered the water supply system in the rural settlement of Lages do Caldeirão and its artesian wells, part of a broader effort to strengthen rural water infrastructure ahead of the dry season. Earlier work restored service in Lagoa do Canto, with plans to reach Cabaceiras next. Mayor Tia Júlia highlighted the preventive approach to ensure reliable water access for rural families.
