Brazilian municipalities Farroupilha and Sinop begin major road paving works
The municipality of Farroupilha (Brazil) signed an order on 27 July to start asphalt paving on a 1.5‑km segment of FR‑79, known as Estrada Miguel Luiz Balbinot, under the Programa Caminhos do Interior. The project, funded with R$ 424,363.86 from a parliamentary amendment and municipal contributions, aims to improve drainage, signage and traffic flow for residents and tourists. Mayor Jonas Tomazini said the work will enhance safety, property values and local production.
In Sinop, the municipal administration launched the asphalt‑laying phase on the Estrada Dalva on 28 July. The 9.4‑km stretch is part of a R$ 38.2 million investment covering more than 120 km of roads across several neighborhoods and communities. Mayor Roberto Dorner signed the service order, and the work follows completed earthworks and base preparation, promising better mobility and durability for daily users.
