Brazilian towns host free wellness and reforestation community events

In Ribeirão Pires, São Paulo, the Mãos que Curam project organized a free morning of integrative therapies, including Reiki sessions for pets, yoga, quick massage and a food‑drive for animal shelters, open to the public at Parque Municipal Professor Luiz Carlos Grecco on Sunday.

On the island of Cotijuba in Belém, Pará, the Instituto Asflora led a planting of 400 seedlings—fruit trees and red mangrove—in the Prainha area to restore a riverbank forest. The event involved students, local residents and partner organizations, aiming to protect waterways, curb erosion and promote biodiversity.

Both initiatives represent local community efforts in Brazil to improve health, well‑being and environmental protection through volunteer‑run activities.
