Brazilian towns host school sports festivals in June 2026

The municipality of São Francisco do Maranhão opened the Jogos Escolares Franciscoense on 12‑13 June 2026, featuring futsal, athletics and judo for students from municipal and state schools. The event was organized by the municipal Secretariats of Sports and Education, with Mayor Francisco do Posto and local officials urging community attendance.

In Saquarema, the municipal government launched the Olimpíada Estudantil 2026 on 8 June 2026. About 3,400 students from 26 schools will compete in queimado, handball, volleyball and futsal. The competition, free to the public, aims to strengthen sport culture, health habits and social integration among youths.
