Brazilian towns Ipojuca and Ipanema launch upgraded plaza and new creche

Mayor Carlos Santana of Ipojuca inaugurated the renovated Praça Afonso Luiz Soares, a 700‑square‑meter public square near the Camela market. The upgrade added a children’s playground, family gathering areas, senior‑friendly fitness equipment, seating, and spaces for community events, aiming to improve accessibility, safety and leisure options for residents.

In Ipanema, Minas Gerais, Governor Mateus Simões opened the Municipal Creche Delfina Calhau. Built with a R$3.4 million state investment and a small municipal contribution, the facility can serve up to 90 children aged 0‑48 months on a full‑day basis. The creche is part of the state’s Project Mãos Dadas, which supports early‑childhood education and broader municipal school infrastructure.
