Brazilian towns Jesuânia and Limeira gear up for Independence Day civic parades

In Jesuânia, Minas Gerais, the municipal education department held a meeting with municipal and state school officials and a police representative to plan the traditional Independence Day parade scheduled for September 7. Organizers discussed school participation, formation of marching units, parade order, logistics and security measures to ensure a well‑structured ceremony for students, educators, officials and the community.

In Limeira, São Paulo, the civic parade will return to Dr. Trajano Street on September 7, starting at 8 a.m. Registrations for schools, unions, corporations and other groups remain open online until September 7. This year’s theme, “Bicentenário de Limeira: Celebrando nossa história, construindo o futuro,” marks the city’s 200th anniversary. Children aged four and up may join, but participants under 18 need parental consent, and political displays are prohibited during the event.

Both towns aim to celebrate Brazil’s independence while fostering community involvement and civic pride.
