Brazilian towns launch rural projects and council appointments

In Ouro Velho, mayor Dr. Júnior inaugurated two rural infrastructure projects on 31 August 2026: a new water‑supply point and a headquarters for the Association of Rural Producers in the Boa Vista dos Barões community. He said the works “represent more quality of life, strengthen family agriculture and improve conditions for those who live and work in the field.”

In Viçosa, mayor Ângelo Chequer presided over the swearing‑in of new members of the Municipal Council for Sustainable Rural Development (CMDRS) for the 2026‑2028 term. The council, composed of public officials and civil‑society representatives, will guide policies aimed at strengthening the municipality’s rural sector.
