Brazilian towns launch upgrades to municipal sports venues
The municipality of Vereda in Bahia began a major renovation of the Gobirão Municipal Stadium, adding LED floodlights, an irrigation system for the pitch, new spectator bleachers, upgraded locker rooms and other modern amenities. Mayor Manrick Teixeira said the project aims to strengthen local sport, attract events and provide a safer, higher‑quality environment for athletes and fans.
In Nova Venécia, the Nova Venécia City Hall is completing a comprehensive overhaul of the Bonfim neighbourhood's poly‑sport court. Works include a new roof, LED lighting, replacement of fencing, refurbished bleachers, upgraded electrical wiring, new sanitary facilities and a full repaint. Officials highlighted the upgrades as an investment in community health, social inclusion and the preservation of public assets.
