Brazilian towns plant native trees and run environmental awareness campaigns

The municipal Environment Secretariat in Ubatuba, São Paulo, planted native Atlantic‑forest seedlings in a permanent preservation area, working with the company Ubalimp and emphasizing community participation to prevent illegal waste disposal.

In Altos, Piauí, the municipal Environment and Tourism Secretariat conducted a two‑day campaign against sound and air pollution, distributed tree seedlings, and promoted measures such as avoiding open‑burning, proper waste disposal and vehicle maintenance. The effort was led by Secretary Natan dos Projetos and supported by the local Forest Brigade.

Both initiatives aim to restore native vegetation, improve local air quality, and raise public awareness of sustainable practices.
