Brazilian towns host June health conferences across several municipalities

A series of municipal health conferences took place in Brazil in June 2026, all organized around the theme “Health, Democracy, Sovereignty and SUS: caring for the people is caring for Brazil.”

The 10th Municipal Health Conference, which had received 204 registrations, was held on 24 June at the Faculdade Atenas auditorium. It was divided into four thematic axes covering democratic health rights, adequate financing of the SUS, climate‑related health challenges and integrated care models. Delegates elected there will represent the municipality at the upcoming state and national health conferences.

On 25 June, Nilópolis hosted its 12th Municipal Health Conference at the 1st Nazarene Church. Speakers from the municipal health secretariat, the local OAB, and other officials discussed the same four thematic axes. Attendees also selected municipal representatives for the 2027 State Health Conference.

Entre Rios do Oeste held its 13th Municipal Health Conference on 26 June at the Clube dos Idosos “Alegria,” electing new council members and debating local health priorities within the national framework.

Salto do Jacuí organized its 5th Municipal Health Conference on 18 June in the city council chamber, featuring presentations from the municipal health secretary and the council’s health committee president, followed by group work on the four axes and the election of delegates for higher‑level conferences.

Separately, the UBS Coroatá unit in the rural zone of Teresina held a “Quinta da Saúde Coroatá” health promotion event on 25 June, offering vaccination, diabetes and hypertension screening, oral health care, and women’s health services, aiming to improve community access to preventive care.
