Brazilian traffic accidents injure 90‑year‑old pedestrian and 57‑year‑old cyclist

A 90‑year‑old woman was struck by a vehicle on Avenida Getúlio Vargas in the Centro 1 district. Firefighters and SAMU responded; the victim was conscious, received cervical collar stabilization, and was transferred to medical care. The 78‑year‑old driver of the Volkswagen Polo was unharmed.

In Rio Branco, a 57‑year‑old cyclist identified as Maria Cidália Aparecida Paixão was hit by a white car on Rua Mauá. She suffered fractures to the right tibia, fibula and nose, was stabilized on scene by passers‑by and SAMU personnel, and was taken to the city's emergency department in stable condition. Authorities will investigate both incidents.
