Brazilian Travel Survey Puts Salvador Among Top Preferred Destinations

A recent online survey by security firm Verisure found that 84.8% of Brazilian respondents have already arranged trips for the second half of the year, targeting holidays in July, long weekends and the end‑of‑year season. The most cited domestic destinations are Gramado in the south, followed by São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and the northeastern city of Salvador, with other popular spots including Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió and Fernando de Noronha.

Security concerns influence travel plans: 33.4% of participants say they find it hard to relax while away because of fear of theft or burglary at their homes, and 24% have cancelled trips during festive periods for the same reason. To feel safe in hotels, 59.2% say they expect surveillance cameras, 56% look for 24‑hour reception or concierge services, and 46% want visitor‑access control.

Internationally, the United States tops the list of preferred overseas destinations, ahead of Mexico, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Spain and France.
